Performance & Capability Under the hood, the 2026 Mazda CX-30 2.5 S Preferred is powered by a SKYACTIV-G 2.5L I-4 direct injection DOHC engine with variable valve control, producing 186HP on regular gasoline. This engine pairs with a SKYACTIV-Drive 6-speed automatic transmission featuring sequential shift control and a driver-selectable drivetrain mode. Efficient engineering allows this model to deliver an EPA-estimated 24 MPG city and 31 MPG highway rating. Power is directed to all four corners via i-ACTIV AWD automatic full-time all-wheel drive, enhanced by G-Vectoring Control Plus brake-actuated torque vectoring for smooth cornering stability. The chassis relies on an independent strut front suspension with a front anti-roll bar and a semi-independent torsion beam rear suspension with gas-pressurized shock absorbers. Stopping power is managed by 4-wheel disc brakes with four-channel ABS, dynamic stability control, an electronic parking brake, and automatic brake hold. Rolling on 18 x 7-inch silver aluminum wheels wrapped in P215/55HR18 all-season performance tires, the CX-30 balances responsive handling with a smooth ride.
