Vehicle description
Change Driven is incredibly proud to present this 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2, finished in rare Nougat Brown Metallic over Mahogany leather. Offered for just two model years, Nougat Brown pairs beautifully with the warm Mahogany interior. This '87 coupe also marks the first year of the desirable G50 five-speed gearbox with its hydraulic clutch. Originally delivered in the Bay Area, the car spent its first three decades in California with two owners before heading east in 2018. It later spent four years with an enthusiast in Nashville before coming to the Raleigh area under current ownership. An extensive service file provides consistent mileage entries and decades of documented care. This has always been treated as the special 911 in the garage, and it shows. Several panels have had paintwork over the years. There is no known accident history and no evidence of body filler, replacement panels, or chassis repairs. You will find some superficial stone chips up front, and the nose has been fitted with paint protection film. Panel fit is excellent, the factory VIN markings and underhood option sticker remain in place, and the rubber and exterior trim are particularly nice Inside, the Mahogany cabin is a standout and remains in excellent shape.. The carpet remains plush, the headliner is remarkable, and the dash is near perfect. The seals fit snugly, and there are no unwanted odors. The seats feature black leather with European-style Carrera script inserts-a distinctive detail believed to have been installed by the dealer early in the car's life, although its origins remain unconfirmed. The current owner even ordered Porsche production documentation to investigate. Some of the coolest cars keep a little mystery. A Porsche Classic Communication Management radio adds modern convenience, but the real appeal is behind the wheel. The 3.2 starts readily, settles into a steady idle, and pulls beautifully. The G50 shifts precisely, and the car feels happy and composed, without distracting squeaks or rattles. It is an absolute delight to drive. The vehicle was serviced at MillerSport in Hillsborough, North Carolina, from 2023 through 2025. Most recently, in October 2025, an oil/filter service and brake bleed were performed. In November 2023, the shop installed Bilstein suspension, performed an alignment, and installed an M&K muffler. In September 2023, they replaced the A/C compressor and receiver, cleaned the A/C line, recharged the system, renewed O-rings and seals, added compressor oil, and completed headlight work. In May 2023, they adjusted the ride height and alignment and performed throttle-linkage work. In March 2023, they mounted and balanced four new tires, replaced two oil lines, installed a new battery, and installed a Dansk stainless steel sport muffler. Earlier records from High Performance House in Redwood City document care dating to 1996, including clutch and slave-cylinder replacement with flywheel resurfacing at approximately 84,130 miles in 2004; steering, suspension, and brake-hose work in 2007; and intake and fuel-injector seal work in 2009. Option List: The sale includes a clean CARFAX, original owner's literature, Certificate of Authenticity, service records, and one key. The current owner gave considerable thought to offering this Carrera, and we understand why. The colors, condition, documentation, and driving experience make it a car that is easy to get attached to. We hope to find its next equally passionate enthusiast. A Dropbox folder with service records, CARFAX, and more than 200 high-resolution photographs is available upon request. The full gallery offers considerably more detail than the compressed website images. We welcome questions, viewings by appointment at our Charlotte facility, and pre-purchase inspections.
